Just a quick question--if there are so many opportunities in Texas, why are there so many pickup trucks with Texas license plates in northern Pennsylvania? Where I live we have a severe housing shortage because of all the out-of-state workers who have relocated here for jobs in the natural gas industry, and they are living in hotel rooms (which means that when the census was taken last year, they weren't included in the local or state population). I must admit, though, it was fun watching them trying to drive in the snow last winter--because I was like that when I first moved here in 1998.
