In fact, I worked on Kathy Whitmire’s first campaign, for Controller, and others after that.

Remember all the criticism she endured for whatever hairstyle she wore? “Tootsie” and all. I don’t remember any of the fellas taking any flack for their haircuts.

What probably soured Kathy’s re-election chances most were: slow clean-up after a hurricane, and conflicts about mass transit.

Good analysis, though, Nancy. I hadn’t thought of the back and forth that way.
